Martin Luther once observed that the “difference between Law and Gospel is the height of knowledge in Christendom.”  If this ability is lacking, he argued, “one cannot tell a Christian from a Turk or a Jew.”  So what is this distinction between Law and Gospel all about, and why are so many Christians in our day ignorant of these crucial categories?  On this program, Michael Horton walks through a number of important Bible texts which present this contrast between command and promise, and explains why this distinction is so important to recover in the contemporary Christian world.
